"Buti na lang I was able to convince my husband to get our youngest child an educational plan. When tragedy struck and I didn’t know where to get the money to send our kids to school, the benefits we got were able to send not only my youngest to college but was able to cover all of my other kids’ school expenses and tuition fees!"

I could never forget that day when a Philam Life agent visited our home in Nasugbu, Batangas and offered an education plan for our youngest child, Mark Alvin. After all the benefits were explained to me, I got really interested. But there was only one problem - my husband. He was never a believer of life insurance. He thought that it would be better to place our savings in banks rather than use it to pay insurance premiums.

I was fully convinced of the importance of insurance that, even without my husband’s consent, I filled out the application form. Thinking that this might get me in trouble, I told the agent that if my husband disapproved, I would return the application to him.

When my husband, an engineer by profession, came back from work, I decided to discuss and explain to him the insurance plan. I was so glad when he finally gave his consent. He signed the application form. I was sure that the education of my youngest child would not be a burden to us in the future.

Then, a tragedy struck us unexpectedly. My husband met a vehicular accident causing his early death. The accident happened while he was in the field working as a project engineer. He was just forty-two. When he left us, my children and I decided to move back to Calapan City.

After losing him, my life became miserable. I could not imagine how I could raise my four young children alone. My eldest was only 13 years of age and my youngest was only 3. Everything my husband and I had planned for the future for our children suddenly became unreachable. We were not yet stable at that time. More so, I was just a full-time housewife. I did not know where to get a job. In an unexpected turn of events, I had to support my family single-handedly.

As years passed, problems for the education of my children surfaced. I got a job in a private hospital but my salary was not enough to meet all our needs.

I did not expect that Philam Life would be of great help to us. A representative from Philam Life came to us assuring that my youngest child would automatically be supported by the educational plan upon reaching the age of six until he completed his college education. I could not contain my happiness. Philam Life became the answer to my problems. The semestral benefits we received were enough to support even the tuition fees and school expenses of my other three children.

At present, my eldest is an accountant working in Makati City; the second is a licensed civil engineer and college instructor; the third has a degree in Commerce working as a government employee; while the youngest, Mark Alvin is a college freshman taking up Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.

I owe all these achievements to Philam Life. This is my husband’s legacy to us and it all started on that fateful day when he said “YES” to the Philam Life offer. Thank you very much, Philam Life!
